A VISUAL SYSTEM POWERED BY CONNECTION

Geen Idee Mag holds a distinctive role within The Hague’s creative scene. It is open, expressive, and shaped by its contributors.

For Volume 4, we introduced Electricity as the central theme, a symbol of connection between creative fields. The magazine brings together artists, designers, writers, and makers in one shared space, both on the page and during the launch event. Electricity also represents energy, the spark that drives artistic practice and the momentum created when ideas collide.

Our task was to translate this into a cohesive visual world. We built a system that holds multiple voices while remaining recognisable and consistent, resulting in a bold and flexible language that amplifies content rather than competing with it.

A FRAMEWORK BUILT FOR ENERGY AND EXPRESSION

The visual language was designed to feel dynamic while maintaining clarity. Typography, layout grids, and graphic elements create rhythm across the publication, echoing the idea of flow and current. The system supports diverse contributors without losing structure. Each spread balances expression with hierarchy, allowing individual work to stand out within a unified framework. The outcome is a magazine that feels energetic where needed, restrained where appropriate, and always intentional. A publication designed to reflect its community and grow with it.
